1. “Prince of this world.”
John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out
John 14:30; 16:11 The prince of this world
Ephesians 2:2 the prince of the power of the air

2. Job, a righteous man
The presence of even one righteous man is a challenge to Satan’s position. It is through His people that Christ lays hold onto His creation.

8 “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 “Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 “Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11 “But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face” (Job 1:8-11).

3. All Blessings Come from the Cross of Christ. If the Bible tells us anything, it is that Satan will contest every inch of territory, and can be overcome only by the power and grace of God. And this is available to men through the Cross of Christ.

“All blessings must come through a Mediator. Now every member of the human family is given wholly into the hands of Christ, and whatever we possess--whether it is the gift of money, of houses, of lands, of reasoning powers, of physical strength, of intellectual talents--in this present life, and the blessings of the future life, are placed in our possession as God's treasures to be faithfully expended for the benefit of man. Every gift is stamped with the cross and bears the image and superscription of Jesus Christ.” White EG: Faith and Works, p. 22.
“All the blessings of this life and of the life to come are delivered to us stamped with the cross of Calvary.” White EG: Review and Herald, December 23, 1902.

4. The Throne of David
Jesus cleansed the Temple in Jerusalem twice; first at the beginning of His ministry and second right at the end before the crucifixion. By this act He claimed the throne of David.
Luke 1:32 and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luke 1:33 he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; .. of his kingdom there shall be no end

5. The Power given to Jesus He gives to the church.
Matthew 28:18 All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.... Go ye therefore, ...
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father:
Luke 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father:
John 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
John 14:12-14 the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;
John 15:7 If ye abide in me,... ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Acts 1:8 ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
1 Corinthians 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet.
Ephesians. 1:20-22 when he raised him from the dead, ... hath put all things under his feet,
Philippians 2:9 God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, ... hath appointed heir of all things,
Hebrews 2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet.
1 Peter 3:22 right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Revelation 5:6, 10 in the midst of the elders stood a Lamb, as it had been slain,... hast made us unto our God kings and priests.

Jesus is presented in Revelation chapter five, as having authority. He is the Lion of Judah, and the Lamb as it had been slain. The book with seven seals is the prophetic history of the church. Because of His sacrifice, Jesus has authority to know and to lead His church.

1 "And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2 "And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3 "And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4 "And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5 "And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6 "And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth" (Revelation 5:1-6).

6. Judgment given to Christ
John 5:22-27 the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: ... And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
John 13:3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, ...
John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to ...

7. By the Power of the Resurrection, salvation is given to both the living (church) and to the dead (Old Testament Israel)
Romans 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Hebrews 12:2 who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross.
Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth and was dead;... and have the keys of hell and of death.

The term “new covenant” is used to refer to the covenant of grace. This was the same covenant given to Adam and to Abraham, and offered to Israel at Sinai (Exodus 19:4-6). It was the same covenant confirmed by Jesus on Calvary. Rather than accepting His covenant and His grace at Sinai, the people countered with their own promises and in effect made their own covenant with God. In time the sacrifices and rituals became the focus of their religion. It was these things that made them “Jewish.”

Paul wrote Hebrews to show Jewish Christians that Jesus was the fulfillment of the sacrifices and rituals. These were replaced by having faith in Him, the true sacrifice for sin. The old testament sacrifices merely pointed forward to the true and effective sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary!

15 “For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
19 “When Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of calves, together with water, scarlet wool and branches of hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the people.
23 “It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 “For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence” (Hebrews 9:15, 19, 23-24).

8. King of Kings and Lord of Lords now and forever.
Revelation 11:15 The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord,
Revelation 17:14 for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings:
Revelation 19:16 on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords

9. Resurrection
1 Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
Philippians 3:10 the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings,
Hebrews 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

10. The keys
Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Job 38:17 Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
   Revelation 3:7 hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

11. Christ, the true Prince of this World
Isaiah 9:6 the mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Daniel 8:11 he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away
Daniel 8:25 he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Daniel 9:25 unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks
Daniel 10:21 Michael your prince.
Daniel 11:23 also the prince of the covenant.
Daniel 12:1 Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people
Acts 3:15 killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead;
Revelation 1:5 Jesus Christ ... the prince of the kings of the earth.

12. Prayers are Answered
God can do more for us when we ask in prayer than if we don’t ask.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (Matthew 7:7):
If Elijah did not pray in strong faith, he would not have been able to bring on a drought in Israel and to start a reformation to worship the living God.
17 “Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 “And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit” (James 5:17-18).

“But prayer moves heaven. That power alone that comes in answer to prayer will make men wise in the wisdom of heaven and enable them to work in the unity of the Spirit, joined together by the bonds of peace.” White EG: In Heavenly Places, ch. 69.
