Covenants: Old and New

The Old Covenant is considered to be the covenant that depended on the works of man.  The New Covenant is the covenant of grace, depending on what only God can do.  Beyond these descriptions the covenants are not well described.  Unless a person is clear on what these terms mean questions will continually arise regarding the Covenants, Grace and the Law.

This is complicated by the presence of the Ten Commandment law which has been called "the covenant." and the civil law, an expansion of the ten commandments for Israel as a nation, and the ceremonial law of sacrifices, rituals, and feasts.

These issues are discussed in this section.  More information will be found later in the section on Hebrews. There are comparisons made with other systems of thought in the Covenant critique.
