Messiah: The Covenant Confirmed

Ever since the covenant was given to Adam and Eve in the Garden, men had looked forward to a Redeemer who would reverse the tide of evil and restore all that had been lost. The system of sacrifices was given to be an illustration of how the Plan of Salvation worked.  It was also called a covenant -- a formal  promise made by God that He would redeem man.

Daniel 9:24-27 pinpointed the time when the Messiah would come. Read this verse:

   27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, ... " (Daniel 9:27 KJV).

The time was now near at hand.  The people were in expectation.  Messiah would soon come!
